A gas cap might seem trivial, but at racing speeds, every component matters. TWM’s precision-machined caps are a case study in Italian engineering.
At 200mph, aerodynamic forces act on every surface of a motorcycle. A poorly designed fuel cap can create turbulence, vibrate, or — in the worst case — fail. TWM’s racing gas caps are engineered to eliminate these risks while adding a touch of Italian precision to your motorcycle’s aesthetics.
Precision Machining
TWM caps are CNC-machined from billet aluminium to tolerances measured in hundredths of a millimetre. The result is a cap that fits perfectly, seals reliably, and opens and closes with a satisfying mechanical precision that cheap alternatives cannot approach. Available in a range of anodised colours — from classic silver to racing red and gold — they add a premium finish to any motorcycle.
The quick-release mechanism is a TWM signature feature. A quarter-turn opens the cap completely, allowing rapid refuelling during pit stops. The locking mechanism is positive and secure — there is no ambiguity about whether the cap is properly closed. A small but important detail for racing use.
Venting and Pressure Management
TWM caps incorporate a precision-calibrated venting system that allows fuel tank pressure to equalise without allowing fuel vapour to escape in dangerous quantities. This is particularly important for track use, where fuel temperatures can rise significantly. The vent is designed to function correctly at any angle, including the extreme lean angles achieved in racing.
Fitment
TWM produces caps to fit a wide range of motorcycle fuel tanks, including most Japanese and European sportsbikes. TAW Vehicle Concepts stocks the full TWM range and can advise on the correct cap for your motorcycle. A small investment that delivers daily satisfaction — and peace of mind at racing speeds.
